Chris Hilton is Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of The First National Bank of Long Island. Chris joined 1N in 2017 as Senior Vice President and Commercial Banking Division Executive and was promoted to Executive Vice President in 2018 and Chief Lending Officer in 2020. Chris leads the Bank’s core commercial businesses, including Middle Market, Business Banking, Commercial Real Estate Lending and Digital Banking.
Chris began his banking career as a Credit Analyst at Long Island Commercial Bank, where he rose to Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer before the Bank’s acquisition by New York Community Bank. Chris joined Empire National Bank in 2007 as Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, eventually named Executive Vice President. Chris joined Suffolk County National Bank in 2014, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer until its merger with People’s United Bank in 2017.
Chris holds a master’s degree in business administration from Long Island University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Providence College where he was a member of the NCAA Division I golf team. Chris also attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
Understanding the importance of community involvement, Chris serves as a board member of the Richard J. O’Brien Foundation. He is also a previous Board Member of the Mission Assistance Corporation of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, and a Board Member and Treasurer of the Risk Management Association Long Island Chapter as well as the Child Care Council of Suffolk. Chris also served his community as an Assistant Scoutmaster in his local Boy Scout Troop and has supported the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
