Michael J. Spolarich Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer (Executive Vice President of the Corporation and the Bank, Chief Credit Officer of the Bank)Mike Spolarich is the Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer of The First National Bank of Long Island. Mike joined the Bank in April 2020 as Senior Vice President and Senior Credit Officer. In November 2020, Mike was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer. Mike is responsible for all aspects of the credit function, including underwriting, credit administration, problem loan administration, loan review and working in partnership with the Middle Market and Business Banking teams.
Mike began his banking career at Chemical Bank, where he completed their commercial credit training program and worked as a Credit Analyst on a middle market lending team. Mike joined 1N for the first time in 1994 as an Assistant Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer, serving until 2001. Over the last two decades, Mike worked at notable community banks, including Bridgehampton National Bank, Empire National Bank, Suffolk County National Bank, and People’s United Bank, before returning to First National Bank LI. During his tenure at previous Banks, Mike has held the roles of Chief Retail Banking Officer, Chief Lending Officer, Deputy Chief Credit Officer and Senior Credit Officer.
Mike holds a master’s degree in business administration from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in applied economics and business management from Cornell University. Mike also attended the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
He additionally serves as a volunteer for Maureen’s Haven Homeless Outreach.
